The Northern Elders Forum NEF has asked the federal and state governments to escalate measures to halt what it described as the harassment of the Fulani and their cattle, as well as de-escalate inciting rhetorics regarding the now-suspended Ruga Project designed for the settlement of herders across the country.

Fresh revelations have emerged indicating that the Head of defunct Interim National Government, ING, Chief Ernest Shonekan used his links with the British government to discourage the presumed winner of June 12 presidential election, Chief M.K.O Abiola from returning to Nigeria after the annulment for fear that the return might destabilise the ING.

Following the emergence of Ndudi Elumelu as the Minority Leader of the House of Representative as announced, Wednesday, by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has suspended Honurable Ndudi Elumelu and others who were announced as Minority Leader and other principal officers of the house as against the list of choice members it had forwarded to the Speaker.
The NWC suspended Elumelu and six others over insubordination of the party’s interest.
