PANDEF asks S’South politicians to sink differences

Pan Niger Delta Forum,  PANDEF, yesterday, called on politicians in the South-South geopolitical zone, irrespective of political affiliations, to put aside their differences and work together in the interest of the region.

PANDEF, the umbrella body of the zone, particularly appealed to politicians in Rivers State ‘not to further engage in activities that could further undermine and impact negatively on social and economic activities  after the tortuous electoral process in the state.”

National Secretary of the  group, Dr Alfred Mulade said: “The people of Rivers State deserve to live in peace after the state of uncertainty caused by the needless and senseless violence before and during the March 9 governorship election in the state.

“We urge politicians who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the elections to follow only lawfully and constitutional means to seek redress, and avoid anything that would threaten peace in the state, region and nation at large.”
