ABUJA — Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the PDP, yesterday, questioned the motive for the inclusion of two billionaire businessmen, Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola in the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council. They described the move as an act of desperation on the part of the president and the APC.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq remains the valid candidate of the APC in Kwara State, dismissing the rumour that his election in the party’s primaries has been quashed by a Kwara court. The Minister, who is the leader of the APC in Kwara, confirmed this to newsmen in Ilorin on Friday after meeting with the state executives of the party to assess the level of preparations for the 2019 elections.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed great sadness at the news of the passing  of the First Executive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari. President Buhari said, “On behalf of my family, the government and the people of Nigeria, it is with immense sadness that I received the news of the passing away of the First Executive President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari which event happened Friday in Abuja.” The President in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina in Abuja described the death as the departure of a patriot whose life of service and humility was widely acknowledged.

THE Nasarawa State  Governor, Tanko Al-Makura on Friday presented the 2019 budget proposal of N86.64billion  to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.

Former President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari has died at the age of 93. He died yesterday at the National Hospital Abuja.
