That chipped mug can add value to your home!

For sometimes now, I have noticed as homemaker, that chipped mugs have been an issue in my home. Everywhere is filled with different shapes and colours of chipped mugs and the headache now is seeing my beautiful mugs thrown into the waste bin.

It is more painful if it is the one you are in love with. Is your case different? I have tried to ask many families what they do with their half broken or chipped mugs. Surprisingly, they were not able to find any use for them.

Most, say they also throw theirs away. To make the case worse, there are no readily available recycle plants for ceramics and other China wares like the way it is done for cellophane bags, cardboards,  plastics and metals.

I don’t think there is anyone in the country that does not have heaps of dented or chipped mugs at home especially party lovers. In every classic party, there is always at least someone sharing mugs as souvenir.

In as much as we can’t keep these mugs at home till the government or private sector find a better way to recycle them, Homemakers have some suggestions of ways you can use your lovely mugs instead of throwing them away each time it is chipped.

Chipped at the rim or handle, it can be used as windowsill flower pots. You may paint the chipped area with spray paints colour of your choice. You may use the spray paints to make beautiful patterns on plain mugs or to add more patterns on already coloured mugs. This will add to their beauty. The beauty is in the different colours of mugs.

They can also be used as containers to store your easy to use items such as sewing kits, razor blades, needles and thread. They can also be used as hold- all containers around the house. On reading tables, you can use it to keep biros, pencils, erasers for the children.

In your bathroom, you may also use them as containers for your beautiful toothbrush and paste You may want to add innovation by drilling of both sides, insert a rope across and it on the wall. You may also want to decorate your shelve with them

NOTE: Spraying paints can only be used on non living things.
