LAGOS—THE General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, Sunday assured of physical and spiritual healing at the 66th Annual Convention of the church which begins today and ends Sunday.
The convention with the theme “Dominion” which marks the 66th anniversary of its foundation, is scheduled for the Redemption Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and is expected to be attended by delegates from over 198 countries where the church has branches.
The 66th annual convention will begin today with the ordination of 11,250 deacons and deaconesses to assist the leadership of the church. The figure of ordainees is over 3,000 higher than the figure for last year, which was 8,230 deacons and deaconesses.
Speaking on the Convention at a thanksgiving service at the Ebute Metta, Lagos national headquarters, Pastor Adeboye told the worshippers that the theme of the Convention, “Dominion” should be a pointer to the fact that there will be intense praise of God, and diligent prayers, stressing that all persons who are not serious with God are advised to stay away.
General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is expected to call out the ever increasing number of ministers in batches, after official presention by RCCG National Overseer, Joseph Obayemi. After the opening prayers, senior ministers of the mission will file out to lay hands on the ordainees with the charge from the 76-year old General Overseer, to go out to expand the Kingdom of God on earth.
RCCG, according to a source close to the church, now has presence in more than 198 countries of the world, with over 32,000 parishes in Nigeria and over 730 branches in the UK and Ireland.
