Ilorin—The embattled only All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmaker in Kwara State House of Assembly, Saheed Popoola(Ojomu/Balogun constituency) has threatened to go to court over allegations of forgery and dude cheque levelled against him by the state House of Assembly.

Speaking, yesterday, after the day’s sitting, he said: “As we speak, Mr. Festus Keyamo(SAN), is on his way to Ilorin, for the details of this matter.

“I have to take them to court over these allegations.”

Popoola also explained that he could not defect with other lawmakers to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as requested because his constituency is against it.

He said: “They made the overtures to go to PDP to me and I consulted my constituency, which said I should stay in APC.

“I have no other choice than to heed the voice of my constituency.

“My election must interest you: I won in all 40 polling units in my constituency with over 10,000 votes, while my opposition polled less than 1,000 votes.

“I have a lot of respects for my constituency, above any person or consideration because that is my root.”
