Kano—A leading member of the Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano, Hajiya Binta Spikin, has broken the suspense and anxiety that followed the defection of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso from All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stating that he is coming to Kano when the time is ripe.

She told Vanguard: “Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is surely coming to Kano, when the time is ripe and no one can stop that.”

She expressed satisfaction with the supporters of Senator Kwankwaso, adding “we should sustain the tempo and ensure that PDP takes back the mantle of power in Kano in particular and Nigeria at large.”

Another women leader, Hajiya Atine Abdullahi, supporting her counterpart, also declared that Senator Kwankwaso belongs to Kano and Kano belongs to him.

Her words: “Senator Kwankwaso is from Kano and belongs to Kano and Kano belongs to him.

“He is a bonafide citizen of the state. No one can stop him from entering Kano.”

Senator Kwankwaso is seen as a major critic of the Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who was Kwankwaso’s deputy when he was governor of the state.

In January, the Police advised Kwankwaso to suspend entering Kano until there is no more tension among supporters, even as they belonged to the same APC then.

Since then the Senator has not been home, leaving the entire Kano political arena in suspense and anxiety.
