THE Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the September 22, 2018 governorship election in Osun state, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola has declared that he is vying to succeed Governor Rauf Aregbesola in order to halt the opposition from destroying the already built legacies of the current administration.

Speaking at his campaign office, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo while playing host to the Forum of Senior Special Assistants to Governor Aregbesola, he said the current administration has recorded huge successes in every aspect of life that must not be allowed to be bastardised by the opposition or anybody. While Pledging to run an inclusive government if elected, Oyetola said the Aregbesola’s administration has done excellently well, adding “it is only an ingrate that will say Osun has not turned a new leaf particularly in the area of infrastructural development which spread across the nook and crannies of the state.”
“We have seen light here and there, we have seen a clear difference in governance and as a people we cannot afford to allow all these legacies to be destroyed. Our primary aim to succeed Governor Aregbesola is to ensure the preservation of his good legacies, build on them and make Osun to be prosperous for all”, Oyetola added. Earlier, the Chairman of the Forum, Engineer Bashir Lawal said the members of the Forum deemed it necessary to visit him to further establish their unalloyed support for his political ambition.
Meanwhile, Oyetola’s campaign organisation has defended the choice of direct system of primary that produced the party’s candidate, arguing that the claim by the former Secretary to the state government and now the candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti for his loss of the APC ticket was totally false.
