Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, a socio-cultural group, has advised All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership not to recall exited members who formed Reformed All Progressive Congress(R-APC), “to avoid public anger’’.
The group gave the advice in a statement signed by its Secretary-General, Mr Akin Malaolu, in Abuja on Thursday.
It said that the reasons for their splitting from the party could be summarized to mean obvious objections to the manifestoes and ideals of APC.
“Regard their departure as very necessary because they are part of the cankerworms that descended on our commonwealth for sharing and looting 2018 budget.
“Supervising such anti-people budget by legislative leaders for presidential assent pictured their whetted materialistic appetite.
“The greater dishonesty in R-APC’s reasons for leaving can be succinctly summarized to mean obvious objections to the manifestoes and to the ideals of their democratic progressive party.
“It will be untrue to deny the excision of some pretending progressives from the bigger fold and foolhardy to stop them from going on their irrational but experimental political journey.
“Reasons adduced by their leaders include allegation that the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari is a ‘disaster’, which help to measure their state of minds.
“Such allegation connotes their deeper love for absolute liberties to commit grievous crimes against the Nigerian people and the state,” it said.
The group urged National Chairman of APC, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, to beware of making wrong moves or calling R-APC members for talks at this time.
According to it, such moves may cause annoyance from Nigerians who carried the burden of pains inflicted as a result of ill-governance foisted on them for 16 years by previous government.
It added that full implementation of the manifestoes of APC would translate to joy, wealth and happiness for helpless and hapless millions of people as against “political jobbers’ selfish interest’’.
It noted that Nigerian youths had been comfortably engaged to do meaningful jobs, while infrastructural development was on daily rise under Buhari.
“Hopelessness and despair that made our people the most miserable of beings that walked the surface of the earth years ago are fast disappearing with comfortable speed.
“The vulnerable persons are monthly been catered for, while corruption war has succeeded wholly and fully, all of these achievements symbolized disaster to the pretending progressives”.
An APC stalwart, Alhaji Buba Galadima, on Wednesday, announced the formation of R-APC, a splinter group from the party.
Addressing the media, Galadima, who claimed to be the National Chairman of the faction, made allegations against the ruling party’s style of governance.
“We are sad to report that after more than three years of governance, our hopes have been betrayed and our expectations completely dashed.
“The APC has run a rudderless, inept and incompetent government that has failed to deliver good governance to the Nigerian people.
“It has rather imposed dictatorship, impunity, abuse of power, complete abdication of constitutional and statutory responsibilities, infidelity to the rule of law and constitutionalism,” he alleged. (NAN)
