OLEH—A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Mr. James Akporero, has declared his intention to contest the Delta State House of Assembly seat for Isoko North constituency.
Making the declaration when he visited the leadership of the PDP in Ozoro Wards 1, 2 and 3, Akporero promised to prioritise education and cater for the needy if elected.
He said: “Our children need to go to school and we need to support them. l have good intentions for the poor and the needy because I have not forgotten where l came from.”
Reiterating his desire to ensure that the people get their fair share of constituency projects, he said: “l will not be a House of Assembly member who awards contracts for constituency projects to himself. For a member to be awarding himself constituency projects is an error.”
He said he would, within two years into his tenure, endeavour to meet the expectations of his constituency “with the level of development l will attract to the constituency.”
