Kogi APC hitch -free ward congress, signs of victory to come – labour minister

LOKOJA – The conduct of a hitch-free Ward Congresses across Kogi State at the weekend is an indication that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is ready towards recording landmark victory in the 2019 general elections.

The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Prof. Steven Ocheni stated this at his Oforachi Ward One (Ogbogbo Polling Unit) after the weekend Ward Congress of the APC in Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area of the State.

Prof. Ocheni said the peace and orderliness that was witnessed during and after the exercise has laid the foundation for a credible democratic process and a good omen for the ruling Party.

“I’m quite satisfied with the manner members of the Party conducted themselves during the Congress, and also the massive turnout of members

“The Party accommodated the interest of all stakeholders and it members at all levels, which pave the way for a rancour free exercise.”

The Minister called on Nigerians to do their best to strengthen the nation’s democracy.

He also commended the Governor of the State, Yahaya Bello for creating an enabling atmosphere for the conduct of a free and fair Congress in the State.

Ocheni added that Nigeria has recorded tremendous achievements under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, noting that a second mandate for the President will further usher in great prosperity for the nation’s economy, political and social development.
