OKOJA—Kogi West Liberation Movement has agreed to the zoning of Western Senatorial seat to Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

This was made known yesterday in a statement by the group’s Chairman and Secretary, Isah Abubakar and Chief Eseyin Olusayo, respectively, after a meeting in Lokoja.

It read: “It was as a result of this arrangement that Yagba Federal constituency, through Yagba West, had the first slot in the person of late Senator Justis Olu.

“Mopamuro Local Government also had its turn, late Senator Sunday Awoniyi; Kogi, Aso Shaibu; Lokoja, Senator Tunde Ogbeha and Kabba /Bunu/Ijumu Federal constituency, Senator Smart Adeyemi and, currently, Senator Dino Melaye.

“All the local governments have had their turn, including Kabba/Bunu in person of Senator Obasaju, except Yagba East. Laws of justice, equity and fair play demand that others hand off for Yagba East to have its turn.”

The movement called for the cooperation of all aspirants to the zoning arrangement, noting that it is the unifying factor among the people in Kogi West.
