BIRNIN KEBBI—KEBBI State government, with support from US Presidential Malaria Initiative, US-PMI, will distribute 2,600 free bed nets to households in the state during a distribution campaign.

Households are expected to register from April 13 to 21 in designa-ted areas across the state, as the campaign will commence on April 27.

Speaking at a parley with journalists in Birnin Kebbi, Leader of the facilitators, Mr. Sammy Olaniru, noting that the distribution will be done in 1,027 distribution points across all the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State.

He urged beneficiaries to air, not sun, the nets for 24 hours before use.

According to him, “the distribution campaign is led by the Kebbi State Ministry of Heath through State Malaria Elimination Programme with technical assistance from US-PMI Implementing Partners, which include USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management, GHSC-PSM, and Health Communication Capacity Collaborative, HC-3.”
