ABRAKA— CHIEFTAIN of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Chief Great Ogboru, has taken a swipe at proponents of a Delta North candidate for the party, stating that persons propelling such move was giving  “justification to oligarchy” in the state.

Chief Ogboru, a serial governorship candidate in the state, also distanced himself from what he called  “tribal agenda” in the governance of the state, saying, “What I stand for is a Delta agenda and not a government of Urhobo or Anioma.”

Speaking at his Abraka residence while playing host to the Delta North senatorial chairman of the party, George Okafor, Ogboru said: “We will not be a government of Urhobo, but a government of Delta.”

Ogboru, who declined comments on if he was running for governor of Delta come 2019, said: “Those bringing a sectional agenda are trying to give justification to oligarchy. They are trying to justify why only a few of them can rule. I think it is best to select the best from the pool of those offering to serve.

“What Delta needs now is not a divisive agenda, but a collective agenda to remedy the state from her current sorry position. I was in Burutu in Delta South and the people want change, today I am in Abraka, the people want a change in government and you, from Anoicha, your people also want change in government.”

On his aspirations, Ogboru said: “It is a holistic agenda and not an Anoima agenda. I have always told those Urhobo around me that I stand for a better, improved and greater Delta State.”
