Tragedy struck at Ogbor Hill, Aba, yesterday when a tricycle crashed into a truck on Umuola road, killing one person.

Eyewitnesses told Saturday Vanguard that the truck with number plate, XD 229 GDD, broke down at the Ikonne street junction, Umuola road, at about 10pm when the tricycle rider, who was speeding without lamp, crashed into it. Two persons sustained severe injuries while another died on the way to the hospital.

A resident of the area, James Chibueze , said the tricycle rider switched off his lights to escape arrest from Policemen on patrol enforcing the directive by the State government to  tricycle riders  to stop operation by 7pm.
