John 3:1 “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”

Though John the Beloved has been in the faith for quite a long time, he was still in awe to imagine the kind of love a Creator God bequeaths on those who have given their life to Jesus the Saviour of the world.

I John 3:2 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

If you are still a child of God basking in the glory of His grace, then mark my word, that day is coming when we shall see Him and we will be like Him.

I John 3:3  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

God wants you to know that if you are going to be a part of the privileged few awaiting to see God face to face as the role is called up yonder, then you must have to be like them.

These unique people are born again and are faithfully waiting for the second coming of Christ, because they are prepared for that great day and are ready to be raptured so that they will dwell with God in the heavenly city for ever.

In order not for you to miss out from such a life time opportu-nity, you must have to be quali-fied like the already prepared virgins.

But how do you know those who are the members of the family of God? Is there any identifying mark that will distinguish them from the rest of the pile of people all around us?

I John 3:4-5 “Whosoever com-mitteth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.”

I will like to explain transgress-ion with this illustration. For instance, if you take a walk through a community and on your way you notice a signpost on a fenced property, with the ca-veat: “trespassers will be prose-cuted.” It simply means that the property needs to be protected and preserved. Hence, any intru-der who dares to cross the red line will face dire consequences.

Likewise, God sets boundaries around our lives, families and communities, with instructions not to cross the line. The laws of God is what checks us by build-ing a protective fence around us, thereby protecting our interests, the interest of others and that of God, with a strict warning that “trespassers will be prosecuted.”

Can you recall any law you mi-ght have broken in your entire life time? Of course, you can, because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. This means that there is no known angel in the world. That is, there is nobody who was born into this sin infested world, yet living an angelic, a pure and holy life, without first having an encounter with the blood of Je-sus.

No single person on earth can be righteous by himself or her-self. That is the reason Christ came to town in order to die for us on the Cross of Calvary by shedding His blood so that our sins will be taken away. Thank God, He will take all your sins away, because He is the only one without sin who has the capacity to do just that.

John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

It is not enough to know that you are living in sin nor in the cond-emnation and judgment sin port-ends. You must have the earnest longings to approach Jesus for Him to do the needful in your life. And when you do that He will take all your sins away.

Jesus is the perfect lamb of God slaughtered for the penalty and payment of your sins. If you look else where for a substitute, you will not be able to find the right substance. Others have used animals in time past, but they could not appease God’s thirst.

You need Jesus today, if you are yet to receive Him, because He can so cleanse you that there will be no remembrance of what you did in the past in God’s record book of bad deeds.

That is why you need the blood of Jesus, because His blood is so powerful that it is the only sacri-fice approved and acceptable by God. John 8:36 concurs by say-ing, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” You will be free.

Matthew 26:28 “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
