Beloved, notwithstanding the economic tension, political pressure and social nervousness in the society at this point in time, one thing that is undisputable is the fact that God knows the beginning from the end and all things are subjected to His will. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Almighty God who determines the cause of events.

Whether you believe or not, it is His grace that sustains you. That you are alive today is ascribed to His benevolence. It is not because you are careful or clever that keeps you till date but because His compassion fails not. If you attest to this fact then I want to assure you that same God who ans-wered you before, made provision for you before, delivered you from the hands of enemies before, heal-ed you when you were sick, sus-tains you till date, will do it again in your life in this special Holy Ghost inspired programme titled- From Sorrow To Joy.
It does not matter if you started the year on good health and suddenly problems crept in or it is a last year’s problem that you are suffering. The fact is that He has delivered you before and Has designed the forthcoming week-end as another time of your deliverance to perfect everything that concerns you and prove that He is the Almighty.
So whatever is your problem, in this divine visitation He will turn your sorrow to joy. God loves and does not want you to begin the year with tears, thus this visitation to remove your burden. You know there is no problem that is might-ier than Him and with Him all things are possible. So, why are you afraid that God will not give answer to that petition you made to Him? Why are you so disturbed that God who brought you to this world will not give you your own husband/ wife? Why are you afraid that God who fed you yesterday will not feed you again?
My friend the God, who did it before, will do it again. God will turn your sorrow to joy comes this programme.
The common problem of many people in this present day is that of failing to remember that what the Lord did in the time of old, He can still do again even in this present day. When you hear many of such people murmuring and complaining of their present situations, the things they say at such times make one wonder if it is not God that is still in control of human affairs. Their attitude make some people wonder if God is still alive or has changed. The same scenario played out in the days of Elijah when he forgot what God can do and instead wished himself dead just because a mere woman threatened him.
I Kings 19:1-4 says: “And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time. And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.”
Elijah was known as a powerful prophet in his era. A Prophet who at his command made fire to come upon his enemies, a Prophet who slain more than 400 prophets of Baal that challenged the suprem-acy of God Almighty. But with all these feats this man couldn’t stand the threat of a woman rather he ran away, murmured against God and even requested from God that he should die. He didn’t consider what God had done before to re-assure himself that same God could do it again. He had forgot-ten that the God who did what Ahab mentioned to Jezebel could still do those things again even better. Beloved, we serve a great and living God who can do all things. If you can have this under-standing, happy are you. Do not be afraid of your present ugly situation for God who delivered you before is still alive and will perform the same feat again and turn our sorrow to joy.
Matthew 4:23-24 says: “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the king-dom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of dis-ease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.”
All these the Lord did in the time of old to prove that He is God and in the present day, around us we can testify in many ways that He has not abandoned us. Now, He that did it before will do it again regardless of what our present situation may be suggesting for His power, love, mercy, and good-ness have not changed. He is much more able to do for us now what-ever He has done before. So, I am assuring you that as you come this weekend to the programme titled ‘FROM SORROW TO JOY’, your distress situation shall be turned to pleasure.
Ephesians 3:20 says: “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us”
God is much more able than ever to do whatever you ask Him to do now for He has done it be-fore. We must not forget the fact that God has not changed and that all He has ever done before He is able to do again. We must consider what He did previously in our lives, how He has given us salvation, delivered us from the hands of our oppressors, and kept us from being destroyed all these years. As you remember all these and call upon Him in accordance with His will, He will surely answer you in Jesus name.
I Samuel 17:34-37 says: “And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. David said moreover, The LORD that deliver-ed me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.” Beloved, that giant boasting against you shall be brought low today. Just recall like David what God has done for you before. He that did it before shall do it again for you.
