LOKOJA—A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kogi State, Dr. Toyin Akanle, has joined the race for Kogi West senaatorial ticket for 2019 election.

Akanle, while declaring his intention in Lokoja yesterday, bemoaned the state of backwardness in Kogi West senatorial district, adding that the people of the zone were being dehumanised on a daily basis as a result of poverty.

Describing himself as a bridge between the old and new generation in the senatorial district, Akanle recalled when the senatorial district was known for quality education and enterprise.

He said he was joining the Kogi West race because “I am a bridge between the old and the young. I have seen a bit of what we were, where we are and have an idea of where we want to be.”
