The Emir of llorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari on Friday called on Islamic preachers to use their preachings for the promotion of Islamic values and peaceful coexistence in the society.

The monarch made the call in his Palace while receiving members of Markaz Alumni Association, Agege led by its new National President, Dr. Yusuf Kolawole Jumah on Friday.

The royal father noted that there cannot be meaningful development across the country without peace, unity and love among the various ethnic groups and religions.

“Peaceful co-existence should always be paramount in your minds since no development could be attained in an atmosphere of chaos and acrimony,” the traditional ruler said.

Sulu-Ganbari advised the Alumni to use the knowledge acquired from the Institution to intensify the campaign for peace in their preaching wherever they find themselves.

The monarch lauded the giant strides of the founder of Markaz Agege in Lagos state, late Sheik Adam Abdullah Alilory towards the promotion of Arabic and Islamic studies in the South West in particular and Nigeria in general.

Sulu-Gambari called on members of the Markaz to support the new president of the Alumni association for the progress and development of their Alma Mata.

In his remark, the new Alumni President, Dr Yusuf Kolawole-Jumah expressed gratitude to the Emir for his constant support and guidance to the products of the Institution at home and in the Diaspora.

Kolawole-Jumah, a lecturer of Islamic Studies at the AlHikinah University, Ilorin solicited for more support from the Emir for the progress of the association.
