Ambode stressed that the move was targeted at boosting bonding among residents and enhance community participation in governance in Lagos without affecting the season.
The governor announced the plans to fete Christians yesterday after receiving award from Christians Conscience Group of Nigeria led by their chairman, Enoch Ajiboso in Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.
Ambode, who was represented by Commissioner for Home Affairs, Abdul-Hakeem AbdulLateef, stated that the strategy was to ensure greater number of residents participate in governance on the other hand.
“I am not a governor for one religion. I am for all. And that is why we have decided that the Christmas party should be decentralized. They will gather in the 20 centres to celebrate at grassroots level.”
