The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State has launched a campaign to sweep out the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, from the local governments.

The operation, spearheaded by Chief Friday Akpoyibo,  Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, with the theme: Operation Sweep APC Out of Ughelli North, is to be launched today.

No fewer than 1,000 APC members are to be formally received into the PDP, according to Akpoyibo.

Speaking ahead of the formal defection, Akpoyibo told party stakeholders: “I live by a code and that code is destroy your enemy totally so that he will never have the chance to recover and the strength to revenge. Half destroyed enemy is like a wounded Tiger, who may later devour you if you are not careful.”

He commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his good governance,  initiatives and for embarking on rapid infrastructural development of the state.

Akpoyibo said he had the mandate of Governor Okowa to deliver the people of Agbarho out of the wilderness he said the APC had sought to bury them in.

He advised the PDP faithful and those defecting from the APC to join him in championing the Okowa cause which is to return the governor back to power in 2019.

Chief Paul Okogu who also addressed the people urged the PDP faithful to remain faithful to the political leadership of Chief Akpoyibo in the area,  just as all other stakeholders commended the Secretary to the State Government, Ovie Agas for his efforts in improving the lots of the people of Ughelli North.
