CPC to penalize companies over consumer’s dissatisfaction

CPC burns fake products in Imo

ABUJA- The Consumer Protection Council, CPC, yesterday, stated that henceforth, it would penalise companies that continually dissatisfy their customers.

The Director General of CPC, Babatunde Irukera stated this during a round table forum with Non-Governmental Organisations, Civil Society Organisation and Community Based Organisation in Abuja.

Irukera said, “we will penalize companies were they continually dissatisfies their customers. We need to engage industries more in CPC by subsidizing industries in order to reduce the cost in transaction.

“I feel extremely helpless when I see a government that does not protect its citizen’s right, we must take joint responsibility in educating customers.

“We are also trying to let civil society know that they share burden of CPC, not just that but also create a network were we both express the policy direction.

Irukera who explained the importance of CSO and NGO in a society, saying “A government without CSO’s is not complete; its drives a nation, every credible leadership should embrace CSOs.
