Senator Andy Uba
Indications are that Senator representing Anambra South in the Nigerian Senate Chief Andy Uba may have jettisoned the idea of ever contesting for the governorship of Anambra state in the nearest future. His calm disposition these days as he struts into the Upper House are sure pointers that he may have accepted his fate as being a governor of Anambra state only for some days.
Sen. Andy Uba
Since losing the ticket to fly APC flag in the coming election in Anambra state, Uba has been cool and calculative, introspective, completely withdrawn and ruminating about his political future. After his initial criticism of the process of the primaries that brought in Tony Nwoye, as the flag bearer of the APC in Anambra, Uba has deeply immersed himself in the activities in the senate where he was recently appointed head of committee on interiors by the Senate President Bukola Saraki in the recent reshuffling of senate officials . He has also said he will give his support to Tony Nwoye.
The former Presidential aide to former President Obasanjo is one of the three members of Uba political musketeers of Uga, Aguata, Anambra state namely Senator Ugochukwu Uba, himself and the political godfather, Chris Uba. Andy has tried severally to be governor of Anambra state under different parties without success. He tasted the seat for sixteen days before he was sacked by the law in the early 2000. Calling shots as Anambra state governor again and without hitch would be an icing on his political cake
However, close sources say political analysts should not be deceived by Andy Uba’s seeming silence adding that he retired into his shell to gather enough momentum for the next alignments that precede the Anambra November 18 debacle.
