FOLLOWING calls to become the custodian of Okpukpu and Okita deities of Udumu Oba in Umunede community of Delta State, an indigene of the town, Mr. Okorie Paulenus Ikechuckwu has fled the community.

Consequently, his kinsmen are not sparing anything in the search for the young man, who was described as the rightful custodian of the deity and also desperately wanted by the community.

A kinsman of Ikechukwu, Mr. Emeke Huhuka, who disclosed this to Vanguard, said the man had earlier rejected the decision of his people on the ground that his religious belief did not permit such.

Ikechukwu, who fled in 2016 on the suspicion that his life was no longer safe, believed that heeding the call of the community will cost him everything including his faith.

According to Huhuka: ’’I know that this man will see this and have a change of heart to come back and take up his traditional responsibilities. He is wanted for this reason. He resided at No 10 Adaigbe Street, Umunede. ‘’
