GOVERNING council of the University of Benin has commended authorities of the university for the ongoing capital projects embarked upon by the institution.
Investigations by Vanguard indicated that most of the projects were being undertaken by the NEEDS assessment and TETFUND and they spread across sites A and B in Ugbowo and Ekehuan campuses of the university.

It would be recalled that Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the University, Mr. Isah Ashiru and the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, recently led principal staff of the institution on a guided tour of the various facilities.
Addressing journalists at the end of the exercise, the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, who was represented by a Deputy Director, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Charity Orgar, said: “On the whole, the University of Benin is doing very well. We have seen good work here. We have also seen work that is ongoing. Together, we have comments and observations and we hope that with appropriate amendment, things will get better.
“I have seen wonderful projects here compared to other institutions that I have visited in Nigeria and I have given him, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, necessary advice to make everything get better.”
Also speaking, the Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Mr. Isah Ashiru expressed satisfaction with the level of work done by most of the contractors, but warned that any project that does not comply with project specification will be revoked.
