Water, the body’s gold standard fluid

Water, the body’s gold standard fluid

Water

THERE is a saying that no matter how chilled a drink may be, whether soda, wine or malt drink, it can never take the place of water. After taking different drinks to satisfy the taste bud, you still have to drink water to quench your thirst.

Information available to Homemakers indicates that an adult’s body is around 55-60 per cent water, which means drinking water everyday is vital for the body to work correctly.

It is advised that since our bodies are dry when we wake up in the morning, drinking a couple of glasses of water to allow the body to rehydrate allows for better digestion when you do eat. It also helps with moving the bowels for regularity in the mornings.

Water does wonders to our wellness, but if you are not properly hydrated, body processes may not work as efficiently as we may want.

So, as Homemakers, put water over any other drink for you and your family. Train your family in wellness to avoid being friends to doctors and pharmacists.
