Stakeholders at the commemoration of China’s 68th anniversary organised by Confucius Institute, University of Lagos, UNILAG, have called on the Federal Government to fast tract pending Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, it signed with China.
Making the call at the anniversary, in Lagos, were Directors of Confucius Institute, Prof. Chindindu Maduagwu and Prof. Wang Youngjing; immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management) University of Lagos, Prof Duro Oni; Nigeria’s former Ambassador to China, Amb. Jonathan Coker and a former Director, Nigerian Institute of Foreign Affairs, NIFA, Prof. Bola Akinterinwa
Declaring the event open, Prof. Maduagwu and Prof. Youngjing said the institute aims to promote Chinese-Nigeria relationship through sharing of knowledge, languages, culture and skills in a formalised institution.
Prof. Youngjing said: “We are happy that China’s relationship with Nigeria is felt in the country through our companies here and through Nigerian companies in China.”
