N/Delta Youths to Presidency: Engage various agitators to douse tension

ABUJA – The National Coordinator, Niger Delta Youth Council, Com. Jator Abido, yesterday, called on the Federal Government to engage various agitators across the country to address the cause of their grievances.

Abido stated this while presenting the Communiqué issued at the end of the Nigeria Youth Integration Summit organised by the Council to mark 78th Birthday of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Chief John Dougie Oyekun, in Benin City, Edo State capital.

He explained that it was imperative for leaders in the country to read in-between the line of the tension engulfing the nation, adding that if the situation is not brought under total control it might go out of hands.

According to him, “the summit emprises the need for Nigerians to continue to leave together in peace and harmony, and the need for government at all levels to rise and leave up to their constitutional responsibility.

“The Federal Government should as a matter of urgency engage with various agitators in various parts of the country with a view of addressing their various grievances to allay the fears of Nigerians leaving in different parts of the Country, to promote unity.”

Abido called on all leaders to evolve strategies that would promotesecurity and peaceful coexistence of all ethnic groups in the country.
