ABA- The Police in Aba, Abia State, has arrested a suspected robber identified as Obasi Chibuike, with a bullet proof vest and live cartridges in the city.

Police sources told Vanguard that the suspect who appeared to be directing traffic at about 10pm along Milverton Avenue, Aba, took to his heels on sighting a Police patrol team in the area.

The team went in hot pursuit and arrested him. When a search was conducted on him, three live cartridges, one jack knife and an international passport were recovered from his bullet proof vest.

In an interview with newsmen, Obasi claimed he picked the bullet proof vest on the roadside while directing traffic and was using it to fight cold before he was arrested by the Police team.

Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mr.Leye Oyebade, who confirmed the incident, stated that the suspect has confessed to being a member of four man robbery gang terrorizing Aba and its environs.

Oyebade added that the Police have advanced efforts toward arresting the other members of his gang.
