The dissolved South West Zonal Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has filed a suit before a Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking an order for the nullification of the 75th  National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the PDP and the  adoption at the special non-elective National Convention of the party held last Saturday.

SINCE the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, announced that the National Identity Number, NIN, has become a major pre-condition for citizenship and that enforcement of no NIN, no international passport, may be in force January 2018, many Nigerians have been spoiling for war. While some feel that such pronouncement has no basis at all, others argue that it was too hasty, considering the precarious nature of the Nigerian state at the moment and the heterogeneous population of the country.

THE New Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr Kabiri Adjoto resumed duties yesterday and ordered the former Speaker, Mr Justin Okonoboh, his deputy, Elizabeth Ativie to return their official vehiclesin their custodies or face the law.

Nigeria was once the first destination in Africa for Foreign Direct Investment, FDI. But now, according to a study, the country ranks nineteenth. Recently, the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, reported that FDI flow plummeted from $9.64 bn in 2015 to $5.12 bn in 2016, a whopping 46 per cent drop. That  drop only tells part of the story and does not reveal the challenges facing the nation which badly need a lot of FDI.

The police authorities have asked a Federal High Court in Lagos to compel the counsel to suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike alias Evans, Mr. Olukoya Ogungbeje to pay a punitive cost of N300,000 for alleged wrongful service of the court processes on parties in the suit.
