THE Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘A’ of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has intercepted smuggled vehicles and other items with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N1.4 billion. About 37 assorted vehicles (eight Lexus Jeep LX 570; 12 Land Cruiser Jeep, all 2017 model and 17 Toyota Hilux) 12,081 parboiled rice with DPV of N149.01 million; anti-smuggling operations yielded 156 assorted seizures including bales of used clothing, Indian Hemp and used Tyres were smuggled into the country via unapproved routes.

THE American Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, is to visit Nigeria later in August to assess the country’s civil aviation industry, three years after it carried out similar assessment of the sector. The FAA team is led by Louis Alvarez, Louis Vanstroy (Operations Specialist), Benjamin Garrido (Airworthiness Specialist) and Jeffrey Klang (Attorney).

IN an effort to check air ticket  fraud, the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies, NANTA, has taken a bold step towards sanitizing the travel and tours industry by initiating a project tagged, “Travel Practitioners Identification Project”, aimed at checking activities of fraudulent illegal travel and tour operators in the country.
