Bauchi—A high court in Bauchi State has adjourned the case filed by former governor, Isa Yuguda, against Governor Mohammed Abubakar to September 26 for hearing.

After hearing arguments from counsel to the parties, the presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Sabo, adjourned the case after considering the fact that the court was going on recess from August 1.

The state government had set up a committee headed by Salihu Lukman, which issued a report demanding that Yuguda and his political appointees refund N213 billion to the state government.

Yuguda and nine others challenged the committee’s action by filing a case before Justice Gurama Mahmoud, who issued an interim injunction restraining the government from doing anything concerning the committee’s terms of reference, pending hearing and determination of the case.

After the order was served, government issued letters, demanding the re-fund of monies allegedly in possession of the plaintiffs.
