Women’s group hails Senator on empowerment

By Elizabeth Uwandu

UGHELLI—A grassroots political platform, the All Progressives Women for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has lauded the Senator representing Delta Central in the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on the ongoing empowerment program he is spearheading in Delta Central, describing the Senator as “a true pillar of support to the downtrodden masses especially in this era of great financial challenges to the generality of the people.”

In a chat with newsmen yesterday, in Ughelli, the group, through its leader, Christiana Ighofose, stated that it views “Senator Omo-Agege’s empowerment program directed at women engaged in petty trading as well as for youths in ‘okada’ business, as a clear indication of Omo-Agege’s uncontestable concern for the downtrodden and love for his people.”

While nothing that “Senator Omo-Agege basically shut down Ughelli Main Market, with traders, their customers and passersby alike, troopingout  to be witnesses to a genuine leaders respect and concern for the electorate,” the group  further asserted that “Senator Omo-Agege has once more displayed his commitment to the welfare of the masses as he takes his empowerment drive to other parts of his long suffering constituency.”
