Chisom Oni
Who’s Chisom Osi?
I am 23 years old, a 400-level student of Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Michael Okpara Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike Abia state. I am from Obinagu Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. I came from a family of five; two younger brothers. My hobbies are dramatising, writing and seeing good movies. My favourite Food is yam cooked in any way.
What led you into the entertainment Industry?
I have always wanted to be seen and heard; to be a role model for younger Nigeria girls and entertainment gives me the room to achieve that.
Do you think young ladies are supposed to be part of the Industry?
Yes, why not ? The entertainment industry is one industry that accommodates people of all ages. It’s true most people believe that a young lady in the industry can be badly influenced but I think that is for someone who is not focused, who doesn’t know what she wants. And again for a young lady to be in the industry I think she needs a proper guide from her parents, guardian or someone already in the industry.
What is your take on sex before marriage?
(Smiles) I am a Christian, so I stand with the Word of God. Sex before marriage is a sin.
What recent event brought you to the limelight?
That was after I contested for Lolo Igbo cultural pageant powered by Vineshield Limited where I was crowned Lolo Ebonyi state.
How are you able to combine your studies with modelling?
I know when I should be in school and when I should turn down jobs no matter how big; but once I am on holiday I call them and tell them I am back.
Do you have any future plan or expectations?
I plan to go into movie production and acting full time after school. For now, I am representing Ebonyi State at Miss Nigeria International in few months’ time. I hope to bring back the crown so I can represent Nigeria on the international level.
Who in the entertainment Industry can you refer to as your role models and why?
Number one is Rita Dominic because she engineered my love for acting and I really love her carriage. Number two is Ruth Kadiri, because she’s decent and very good at what she does. She inspired me a whole lot, when I got into the industry newly I would have fallen a victim if not for my close watch on her ways. I said to myself if Ruth can get popular in the industry by writing and producing movies that
feature her then all I need to do is work hard and not be desperate. Number three is Collette Nwadike; I love her determination and strength. She is the former Miss Tourism Nigeria and the current Exquisite Face Universe, and also one of the Special Assistants to the Governor of Anambra State. Few months ago she produced a very big soap opera titled ‘African Beauty’. She is one strong young woman I know.
Do you have plans of getting married soon?
Yes, I will when he comes.
Do you think you are beautiful enough to grace the Industry for a long time?
The industry is not all about being beautiful but I know I am good-looking, bold, talented and has enough carriage to grace the industry for a long time.
