When the rich married the rich!

When the rich married the rich!

Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson with couple and their parents

IT was indeed a case of ‘the rich getting married to the rich.’ And this is exactly what played out penultimate Saturday, when the son of  a Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN, Tayo Oyetibo, Mofesomo tied the nuptial knots with the daughter of another Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Mike Igbokwe, in a fairytale wedding that will continue to be the talk-of-the-town for a long time.

The wedding day was like a perfect dream, and the bride and groom who are equally legal practitioners in their own rights did everything to make the day a special one.

Expectedly, while the colourful ceremony lasted, the two senior citizens were all smiles as they watched their children walk down the aisle in grand style. The traditional ceremony took place at Queen’s Park Events Place, Victoria Island, two nights before the white wedding which took place at Pastor Paul Adefarasin’s House on the Rock Cathedral, Lekki, with a reception following at the Balmoral Event Place, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

From the church to the reception venue, it was a sheer display of affluence, class and style. The expansive hall indeed was made into a dreamy atmosphere with beautiful décor, and guests had a swell time. Among the distinguished guests that graced the ceremony were Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Seriake Dickson, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, former governor of Lagos State and Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, Deputy governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Yetunde  Onanuga. Others were Justice C.C Nweze  of the Supreme Court, who chaired the occasion, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, Chairman, Chisco Group among other dignitaries.

The highpoint of the colourful wedding was the father-daughter bridal dance. The bride, who was looking absolutely gorgeous in her vintage white wedding gown  with a long train, took over her wedding reception floor with her dad, swaying and swirling as they danced to the admiration of the guests. In the same manner, the groom, who was dapper in a black  bespoke 3-piece suit and black bowtie upon white shirt took over the floor with his mum as they also thrilled the guests with a special dance. In all ramifications, it was a wedding blended with a celebration of love. Interestingly, the bride and the groom are legal practitioners who have  already stepped into their fathers’ bogus shoes.
