It is a major achievement that Nigerian women now have a forum where they can discuss personal and private issues like self-love, self-esteem and sex in marriage.

The programme titled, “The Sexually Confident Woman” conference, was initiated as a platform to engage, motivate and encourage women on their sexuality.

Speaking at the second edition of the programme, convener, Tope Mark-Odigie, said her vision is to help restore and develop self-love, improve self-esteem and confidence in women and as well help women form the habit of appreciating their body structure without feeling inferior at any point in time.

“What we want to achieve in this edition tagged self-love Is to make women understand that there is no ideal body size, no ideal body shape, no ideal face and as well no perfect body. Whatever body structure, colour God gave you, make the best out of it and make it last for you.

According to Mark-Odigie, “every woman will not be thin, so appreciate whatever you have and love it, that is the purpose of this programme.

“Every women that attended this programme must have learnt how to appreciate and call herself beautiful. They will have known that they are unique.

Narrating how the initiative was conceived, the Young entrepreneur and television presenter Tope Mark-Odigie said that due to being on TV, a lot women confide their private issues in her and she discovered that lack the of self-love is becoming an issue among them, most especially after giving birth some people’s body would lose shape, some will have stretch-marks and all that. While we already Have platforms like WINBIZ where women can gather and discuss business, we don’t have non-religious events discussing women and their sexuality.

I’m happy today that we now have a forum where women can now talk about self-love, sex in marriage and other issues relating to womanhood. This edition of Sexually Confidence Woman conference is to tell a woman that if she loves herself it will show in her business, her relationship with colleagues in the office, it would also show on the way she trains her children and in her relationship with her husband. Self-love is key to success in the home. So, I tag it, “Self-love, impact on your life from bedroom to boardroom”. A Woman must understand that if she doesn’t love herself, things would not workout for her.
