AC MILAN are prepared to make Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the highest paid player in Serie A.

The Borussia Dortmund ace looks braced to leave the Bundesliga this summer with the club prepared to cash in if they receive £65million for him.

Chelsea have been in talks for the Gabon hitman but it appears AC Milan are ready to flex their financial muscle to pile further misery on Antonio Conte’s transfer window.

Aubameyang spent his youth career at the San Siro but was forced to spend time on loan at four different clubs before eventually making his name at Saint-Etienne.

But when the striker bumped into AC Milan’s CEO Adriano Galliani during the Champions League last season, he reportedly told the Dortmund striker: “I know that you cannot come back right now but if one day you choose to return, you will be welcomed back.”

Aubameyang replied: “With pleasure.”

And now with AC Milan under mega-money ownership, they can afford the £65m price-tag and the striker’s high wages.

Real Madrid were thought to be the player’s favoured move but Zinedine Zidane’s side have cooled their interest.
