ABUJA – CHAIRMAN of All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors Forum, Rochas Okorocha has said that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP will not pose any threat to the ruling APC’s victory in 2019.

Okorocha who stated this after the APC governors had a closed-door meeting with the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, also said that APC was still putting its house in order before it will conduct its convention.

The Imo State Governor told State House Correspondents that the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari had not affected governance of the Acting President has piloted the affairs of the country efficient and effectively.

Fielding question on whether the meeting with the Acting President was out of pressure as a result of the recent Supreme Court judgement which appears to have resolved the leadership tussle in PDP, he said “No, PDP is a non issue, we don’t even care about that, we defeated them when they were in power so what is different when we are now in power.

“We came to discuss issues relating to our party and our government and how to move our party forward. We discussed a lot of issues on how to move the party forward, how to strengthen the party and how to make sure our party remains Victorious in all elections.

“Very soon we will have convention, that is part of the things we are discussing.

“The convention not taking place has nothing to do with the absence of the president or the Acting President. We are just putting our house in order and making sure things are in the right form before we kick off.”
