The Director General on Media and Publicity to the Kogi State Governor, Kingsley Fanwo has warned those he called “detractors” to desist from distracting the Governor from achieving his goal of a better Kogi for all.

Kingsley Fanwo, Director General on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kogi State

Speaking in Lokoja on Sunday, Fanwo said the Governor will remain “unwaveringly committed to repositioning the state”, insisting that “the Governor is not thinking of the next election yet”.

“In November 2015, Kogites trooped out to vote massively for our dear party to record a resounding victory and replicate what all party faithful worked to achieve in the earlier general elections. Our leader, late Prince Abubakar Audu, alongside some other great leaders of the party worked tirelessly with different groups across the state to achieve the victory we are working with today.

“The best way to immortalize the late Prince Abubakar Audu is for this administration to deliver democracy dividends to the people. Governor Yahaya Bello is prepared to make APC unbeatable in the state by embarking on popular projects that have direct impact on the people at the grassroots. The present administration in the state is aggressively providing social amenities and empowering women and youth across the state.

“In the last sixteen months, many projects have been completed and many others are in different levels of completion. By the middle of this term, more projects will be commissioned.

We have made significant progress in the area of civil service reforms and will follow the reforms through by improving efficiency in the civil service”.

The Governor’s spokesman urged the people of the state to remain steadfast and tap into the opportunities created by the administration in agriculture. He said the administration is “expanding the agricultural frontiers to provide jobs and ensure food security”, assuring that the Governor will not fall into the “scandalous neglect of the agricultural sector” like his predecessors.

“Governor Yahaya Bello is expanding the agricultural frontiers to create more jobs, more wealth and ensure food security. With the Omi Dam Project and Dangote’s partnership with the State Government in rice production, Kogi is in line to becoming an agricultural force in the nation.

“We quite appreciate the practical manifestation of how agriculture can change the economic narratives as being experienced at Omi Dam. Government will continue to accord agriculture the benefit of driving the economy of the state”.

He assured the people of Kogi of the readiness of the present administration to complete the various ongoing projects across the state, saying the projects are in tandem with the New Direction Agenda of the present administration.

“Ongoing projects across the state will be completed by the present administration”, he said, adding that “State Government consultants have concluded work on cost assessments of other roads in the state which would be awarded soon following due process”.

Fanwo said Governor Bello is not thinking of the politics of 2019, urging opponents of the Governor to hold their breath.

He said, “2019 is in the hand of God and at the appropriate time, the people will determine who to lead them. 2019 will be determined by the people through the guide of God. Kogi will continue to move forward. Governor Bello is laying a solid foundation for a better future.

“We cannot relapse into an ethnic coded past. This administration has proven that we are a United people. We have seen the strength of unity and will never go back to the weak era of disunity. Those who think they can divide our people again should adopt another strategy. Kogi is already a national standard of unity in diversity.

“The Governor will continue to consult selfless elders for advice on how to move the state forward. This administration is on the right path”.
