ENUGU—LATEST defector to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, Chief Emeka Ani, popularly known as Emeka Wawa, has said that in the same manner APC threw away Goodluck Jonathan’s government in 2015, the APC will pull down the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led government in Enugu State by 2019.

Ani  said defeating PDP in the state would be easier now given the popularity being gained by the APC with its good governance and fight against corruption in Nigeria.

He, therefore, concluded that it would not take much effort to defeat PDP in Enugu State, particularly with the galaxy of politicians that have joined the APC.

Ani made the statement shortly after he registered as APC member in his Amafor-Ugbuwka ward in Nkanu East Local Government area of the state.

He said: “I am happy with APC and I love APC because of its performances. We need a change and you can see APC is fighting corruption; that was why I decided to join the party. We want a better Nigeria and a better government.

“It’s not a problem for APC to take over the government in Enugu State. Jonathan was President of Nigeria  under PDP, yet APC collected power from them. It’s going to happen the same way in Enugu State.”

On the issue of alleged Igbo marginalization by the APC-led government and ethnic agitations in the country, Ani prayed for President Mohammadu Buhari’s quick recovery so he can fully resume resolving Nigeria problems.

“As you can see, our President is not well, maybe that is why we are having a problem but you can see that APC is really fighting corruption which is important in Nigeria today.

“Sometimes father and son fight, mother and father fight. It doesn’t matter the fight we have in our hands now, I know that with time, it will be okay because we are having meetings here and there and I think the only solution is dialogue and I believe that dialogue is going to solve the problem.”

The business tycoon said that he preferred restructuring of Nigeria to the agitation for Biafra republic being campaigned for the pro-Biafra groups, noting that “to restructure Nigeria is better so that we become one Nigeria.”
