TWO YEARS IN OFFICE: Nigerians pass verdict on Buhari
An Ughelli based motorcyclist in Delta state, Efemena Egbe, said, “This government has nothing good to talk about, we keep hearing them announce on television that they have found millions of stolen money, yet no one knows what these monies are being used for. The EFCC has not been able to tell us who they arrested in connection with these monies. If you ask me, this Buhari government is a drama of the more you look, the less you see. We are being taken for a ride and the earlier we realize this, the better for us.”
Badoo, deflating police in Lagos
Badoo, a gang of ritualists and rapists seems to have overwhelmed the police in Lagos state, killing and maiming flock of residents within Ikorodu and neigbouring communities. For two years running, this pogrom continued in Ibeshe with no fewer than 500 massacred in their sleep, leaving the Police without any clue of the suspects. The police seem to be losing the fight as organised crimes from different communities continue unabated. From incessant cult clashes to Militants’ ruthlessness, killings and kidnappings where several innocent people lose their lives daily and cheaply too.
What about your mental muscles?
I get amused while passing through some neighbourhoods. I see bare-bodied young men walking in the streets, parading their well-chiseled bodies. I always say to myself, I hope these guys are also building their mental muscles. I do not know what goes on in their minds that make them walk the streets in daylight half naked, but I hope they are not fixated on the illusory assumption of the kind of man women want. In our teenage years, we were misled into the same illusion: Tall, handsome, muscle-bound with six ridges (albs), etc. As I grew older, especially when I became an undergraduate, I got confused because I saw “ugly” lecturers and professors, some of whom were barely five feet, married to tall, stunning beauties.
Dangote decries multiple taxation in Benue
The President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has lamented the rapid rise in the number and rate of taxes and levies in Benue state saying it was detrimental to the growth of business in the state. Alhaji Dangote who spoke weekend, at the commissioning of Tricycles and Mini-deports distributed to members of the host community of Dangote Cement Plant in Gboko, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, urged the state government to urgently address the unhealthy development.
