SOKOTO—Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has called on the people of the state, especially at the local government level, to monitor all government projects in their localities and report any contractor or supervisor that circumvents laid down procedures.

A statement by Malam Imam Imam, the Governor’s spokesman, announced this after a meeting with the 23 local government council chairmen, yesterday.

The governor said that various projects were ongoing in various sectors such as health, education and agriculture, adding that government would do more to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

He said: “Since these projects are meant to benefit the communities directly, our people should endeavour to be at the forefront of protecting them.”
