POWER Distribution Companies, DISCOs, that defaulted on the regulations guiding power wheeling from Generation, GENCOs would be sanctioned, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission  said yesterday.

It will be recalled that the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, had consistently blamed the DISCOs for rejecting electricity quota (load) from Generating Companies (GENCOs).

NERC recently summoned a stakeholders meeting involving the TCN, GENCOs and DISCOs couple of days ago to discuss the issue of load allocation and the allegation of load rejection in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
