PORT HARCOURT—The corpse of a courier personnel attached to an online business establishment was, yesterday, discovered in a septic tank in Port Harcourt.
The lifeless body was found around Ada-George area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, by operatives of Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
The victim, who worked for an online business company, was said to have been killed when he had gone to deliver iPhones and valuables to customers in the area on Saturday.
After the victim had gone out for delivery on the said day, his phone number could no longer be reached by his associates, who became agitated.
Yesterday, the corpse of the courier agent was found in a customer’s residence after some people in the area complained of strange smell and movement.
It was gathered that police swung into action and discovered the remains of the online company’s representative already decomposing.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, has confirmed that three suspects, who are residents in the yard, where the personnel had delivered the phones, have been arrested.
Omoni, who noted that the suspects are cooperating with police, said: “Three suspects have been arrested. They are now in the police custody. We are also in search of the remaining members of the gang.
“The corpse has been recovered from where they hid him after killing him on Saturday. We are still on with the investigation.”
