Akeredolu’s wife seeks 35 percent of appointments for women

AS agitation for political positions hots up  in Ondo State, the wife of Governor Rotimi Aderedolu, Betty, has appealed that 35 percent of all appointments be reserved for women in the state.

This came just as Akeredolu announced  Oluwasegun Ajiboye as his Chief Press Secretary.

Mrs.  Akeredolu, speaking in Akure, said 35 percent women in the current administration was not too much. She said more women in government would bring about better performance for the administration.

The first lady pointed out that it was high time women were given opportunity to be in charge of political and elective positions in the country, saying women were better managers of resources. The governor, who earlier addressed women groups   in his office, said his government would not neglect women in the state. He urged them to “re dedicate themselves for a better tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, the new CPS,  Ajiboye,was an Assistant Editor with The Nation newspapers.

Other appointments in the Press Unit include Mr. Dapo Aruwajoye as Press Secretary (Electronic Media) and Fisayo Falodi Press Secretary (Print Media).
