THE Government College Ughelli, GCU, Old Boys, has elected Professor Oritsegbemi Omatete, as President-General Worldwide, PGWM to lead a team of 10 executive to its run the affairs.
The election took place during their Annual General Meeting, AGM, on January 19, 2017, to reunite, inspect the school facilities, evaluate staff and student’s well-being and academic performances.
Other officials elected are Chief Arch Charles Majoroh 1st Vice President-General, Mr. Mac O. Emakpore, 2nd Vice President-General, Dr. Richard Obiuwevbi, 3rd Vice President-General and Sir Moses Aroko, 4th Vice President- General.
Also elected are Mr. Robinson Roy Odoko, Secretary General, Dr. Emmanuel Aruoren, Assistant Secretary General, Mr. Stephen Ighofose, National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Robert Oviri, National Treasurer, Chief Godwin Asudo, National Financial Secretary and Mr. Nyerovwo Ohre Esq, .National Legal Adviser.
The newly elected National Executive Council members were immediately sworn into Office by Chief Albert Akpomudje, SAN.
Speaking after the election, Prof Omatete expressed gratitude to the newly elected National Executive Council members and all Old Boys, appreciating them for their enormous support towards their Alma Mater, promising them that the members of NEC would continue to do their best to take GCU and its OBA to the next level.
Some of the highlights of activities of the events were the commissioning of newly reconstructed access roads within the School premises by the President-General Worldwide of GCUOBA; Science Exhibition by students of GCU where they displayed inventions like Vacuum Cleaning machine, Mosquito repelling machine, Liquid Wash product and so on.
