
Former Gov of Benue State, Samuel Ortom
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has directed ministries, departments and agencies to brief the media on their activities since his assumption of office.
Special Adviser on Media and ICT, Mr. Tahav Agerzua, made the disclosure in Makurdi, yesterday.
Mr. Agerzua stated that the directive was in accordance with the full disclosure policy of the Ortom administration, which is based on the right of the people to know how their mandate was being discharged.

The Special Adviser stated that the briefing was also part of the strategies lined up by the information dissemination machinery of the state to beef up publicity on the milestones recorded by the All Progressives Congress, APC, administration in the state.
He said the briefing will commence on Monday, February 21 and last for nine days.
Mr. Agerzua appealed to ministries, departments and agencies to make available comprehensive information about their organisations and be prepared to also answer questions from journalists.
The Special Adviser listed daily release of information about government activities, periodic publications, regular project tours, release of documentaries and feature articles as well as deployment of social media as vehicles that would be used to publicise government activities.
Mr. Agerzua stated that his office was also compiling a detailed report on projects being executed in the 276 councils of the state for publication.
