LAGOS—Gunmen reportedly stormed Itele-Maya axis of Ikorodu, Lagos State recently, killed a 44-year-old landlord, Samuel Ojajune, and injured others.
The deceased was shot four times, but did not die. The gunmen then allegedly slaughtered him. Some residents fled the community, following the incident.
Sources said that before their arrival at Ojajune’s house at about 11p.m., the gunmen had gone to some houses within the community, attacking the occupants.
Speaking to Vanguard, the daughter of the deceased, Miss. Omotoyosi Ojajune, disclosed that over five gunmen came into their home, collected their phones and shot her father.
She said: “When they arrived, some were busy beating my mother and I, while others concentrated on my father. When they realised he did not die when they shot him, they dragged him out and cut his neck.”
She lamented that efforts to rescue him proved abortive as the gunmen stood beside him to ensure he was dead.
The widow, Oluwafunke, said: “This is the first time we will be experiencing such in the community.”
