2017 is already on. A  week is gone and we are left with 51 weeks.    Brethren, what have you decided to do this year?

I suggest we get busy with God.    Get busy with God and God will also be busy responding to issues of concern to you.

For those who live in busy cities like Lagos,    they often get busy with everything except the Lord.      People are in a hurry to do so many things but    almost never in a hurry to relate closely with God.      This season calls for a change of attitude from us all.

Some may say, ‘I have everything going fine for me, why should I be busy with God?’      There are a thousand and one reasons why we have go get busy with God.

The first  is that no one knows what 2017 has in stock for individuals, organizations or even countries. However, what is most certain is that the year must have its good and ugly. In the name of Jesus, only Abraham’s blessings will be your portion.

Are you on the sick bed struggling to be healed? Remember there is a great physician. The Doctor of doctors; Jesus. Look unto him and    your health will be restored in Jesus name.

Are you a grandma , disturbed that your son or daughter who has been married for years is yet to be blessed    with the fruit of the womb? Get on your knees and pray ceaselessly for the couple and Lord will surprise    your family in Jesus name.

In other families, parents are worried that their daughters of marriageable age are till single.

Rather than worry,    take in the word of the Lord in Genesis 2 vs. 18 King James Version:” And the Lord God said , it is not good that the man should be alone ;    I will make him an help meet for him”. Man in this context refers to the man and woman.

There is a general assumption that it is only ladies who have this challenge. Not true. I have come across men who have this challenge too.

As parents, what we should do is to remind God of his promise and get those concerned to be part of this prayer.

How to get busy with God

Getting busy with the Lord could be done in several ways.    The first    step is prayer.      Prayer must go with the word of God.    While praying, we need to buttress our point with the word of God. This , can only be done by those who are familiar with the word.      Your familiarity with the word of God is an important key to your breakthrough. Within your busy schedule, you must    find time to familiarize with the Word of God.

For instance, if you spend    long hours on the road,    listen to message tapes from credible men of God.      As your ears pick the message, your Spirit too will pick the message and something is bound to change for you in name of Jesus.

Let’s hear from the Holy Spirit – I refer to the response of our Lord Jesus Christ while responding to a question from one of his disciples.    Let’s consider John 14 verses 23    “    Jesus    answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father    will love him, and we will come unto him, and make    our abode with him”.    Brethren if God abides with you, that sickness will disappear.    If God abides with you, that dull business will receive a boost.

Verses 24 to 27 “He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.    These things have I spoken unto you, being    yet present with you”.

Our emphasis is verses    26 and 27 “ But the Comforter, which is Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance , whatsoever I have said unto you”. When the Holy Spirit teaches you all things and you obey completely, definitely you will be a star among your mates.

Verse 27 “ Peace I leave with you, may peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.    Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid”.

Brethren, let’s pay attention to the last sentence : “ Let not    your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”.

As human beings we are sometimes troubled by challenges. A woman whose home is tension soaked for a number of reasons is likely to be troubled.      An employee whose office is set to downsize will not just be troubled , he is afraid of the future without a job.      We have several reasons why we are troubled but we must find the courage to keep our minds at peace and it is only the Lord Jesus that gives such peace.    Remember, he is the Prince of Peace.    He commanded that the storm be still and it was still.

In the name of Jesus; the name that is above all names, every storm in your life shall cease this    year. God will give you all round peace.      Put your mind at rest in the Lord and you will have rest from all    challenges .

Let’s look    instances in the Holy Bible where the Holy Ghost spoke . New International Version of the Holy Bible “While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”.

Note they were worshipping the Lord and fasting.    Worship could be in form of praise singing and or prayer.      Fasting is quite clear.    It is a period of self-denial.    We must find time to keep ourselves busy with worship or fasting    .    Both are ideal.    However, the point here is that    the Holy Spirit speaks.

When we hear the still small voice; the voice of the Holy Spirit and obey completely, our breakthrough is sure.

Make your mind to link up with the Holy Spirit.    Take the right steps and you will have a smooth ride in the journey of life.    Do not doubt.    It is quite possible. Testimonies of      abound in this area.

Our duty- It is our duty to    say good things to ourselves.    Say what you want to be to yourself in the quite corner of your room.  You can be sure God hears you.    Say this repeatedly and it will manifest physically in Jesus name.

Testimony  –    A couple gave    a testimony at Laughter Foundation Ministry      when the Lord gave them a baby boy.    What I find significant about this testimony is that the woman was pregnant for four months and she didn’t know she was pregnant. This means she was still    having her period but according to her husband, she continuously felt feverish.    Even though they had been praying to have a child, neither husband nor wife thought it could be pregnancy . Her doctors also did not suspect pregnancy    but at a point, the husband suggested she should have a pregnancy test.      Behold it was positive and confirmed by scan.

Brethren, God is beyond    medical science.    Hold unto him    and he will give you a pleasant surprise.

I’ll end this edition with a quote from Pastor Peter Olawale, assistant general overseer      (prayer) at RCCG “ Wherever, there is    no Christ, there will be Crisis”.

Make Christ your companion and your life will be crisis free.

God will    give you a new beginning in Jesus name.
