Customer battles bank over forceful pension transfer to PFA

Deadline on NIN/account linkage: Most banks yet to implement directive

By Babajide Komolafe

The following are complaints against unsatisfactory banking services and responses by bank.  The most interesting one for this edition is by a customer who accused his bank of   forceful transfer of pension deduction to a Pension Fund Administrator which he does not wish to patronize.

STANBIC IBTC BANK

Olayode Oluseun

Stanbic, your action of transferring my money by force to Trustfund Pension will surely backfire. I’ve sent message back to you that I’m not in any way interested in doing anything with Trusfund Pension but you guys forcefully moved my money to them. Should anything happen along the line, I swear you guys will pay more than you chew.

Stanbic IBTC

Hi Olayode, Please note an RSA holder is to maintain one RSA PIN for his pension contributions and the determination of the PIN to be maintained (in cases of client with more than one PIN) is with the National Pension Commission, this helps to prevent difficulties at the point of withdrawal.

Olayode Oluseun

In that case I’m not interested in Trustfund, my money, future and time is not safe with them leave my money where it is until I advice to do so.

When was the policy implemented and when did I open the first account. How much is in the first account and the account in question? I may initiate a serious legal action against this kind of maltreatment deliberately melted on citizen.

Stanbic IBTC

Hi Olayode , Kindly provide your RSA PIN and mobile number via private message to enable us check and advise further.

Please contact your branch or STANBIC IBTC customer contact centre
